Modi visits Nepal

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Nepal today to become first Indian Prime Minister to visit Nepal after 17 years. The main objective of Modi’s Nepal visit is to forge a new relationship between Nepal and India.
He also addressed Nepalese Parliament. The key points of his address statement were:
·         I am the first guest in your Parliament who has been invited to speak. This is an honor for all Indians. I consider this as respect shown to 1.2 million Indians.  
·         The bond between Nepal and India is as old as Ganga & Himalaya. There is a temple in Kashi, where priests is from Nepal, and there is a temple in Nepal where priests are Indian.
·         As a line of credit India will extent Rs 10,000 crore to Nepal.
·         Call rates between India and Nepal need to be lower and for that We should speak to the mobile service providers.
·         Even after being so close it took us 17 years, but I promise that this will not happen again. I am coming back again for SAARC summit.
·         SAARC nations should wage a war against poverty and for that we should help each other.
·         Nepal needs 'HIT' - Highways - Infoways - Transways and we will support you in all these.
·         To help the SAARC nations in the field of health and education We have decided to launch a SAARC satellite.
·         Let us think about how the Himalayas can help humankind.
·         Nepal should become a leading exporter of herbal medicines and we are ready to support you in this.
·         Nepal can free India of its darkness. But we don't want free electricity, we want to buy it.
·         I congratulate Nepal for chosing the path of  "Budha" over "yudha.
·         We want to see Nepal become a powerful nation.
·         The world will get a way towards peace from this land, your Constitution will pave way for that. India will support your aspirations on your way to your achivements, that is what we want to do
·         Nepal is a truly sovereign nation and It is not our job to interfere in your affairs. Constitution is not a book, it brings past, present and future together.
·         India welcomes & respects your Federal Democratic Republic.
·         The world that believes in democracy is looking to Nepal constituent assembly, to the leaders sitting here.
·         Salute the Gurkha soldiers who attained martyrdom for India.
·         Nepal is a country of brave people.
Narendra Modi will return India tomorrow.
